Racing Team

Travel Team Racing Sailors (8-18 years)

• 3 to 8 week summer session(s)

• Specialized coaching on Opti, Laser, and Club 420 sailboats

• Travel to regional regattas, mostly Chesapeake Bay Yacht Racing Association (CBYRA), throughout the summer

• Travel Team prerequisites for participation are Coach recommendation and Director approval. 

• Includes high level coaching, boat use when required, and logistical support for participation in regional CBYRA junior regattas. 

• Fleets: Opti Green (new racers) , Opti White - Blue - Red, Laser Radial, Club 420. 

• Racers build sailing skills and camaraderie, with intensive practice, focused instruction, and specialized coaching for competition.  

• Our experienced coach provides a curriculum with current and effective techniques to create skilled and confident sailors who will respect others, care for their equipment, and be willing to help fellow sailors on and off the water.

• We’ve had racers in the top 10 on the Bay for many years, despite being a very small sailing educational program!

• Parents / Guardians are responsible for program fees, boat use fees as necessary, assisting the team with towing and travel, regatta entry fees, lodging as necessary, and activity fees per event.

• Minimum 3 of weeks. For maximum benefit, 8 weeks are recommended.
